Nicolas Carra sworn in for 3rd Term; elected Council President

Updated: Feb 21, 2023

Happy New Year!

I would first like to begin by thanking my family who continue to support me in all that I do. I would also like to thank everyone who made it here today! As I begin my third term, I would like to thank the voters for placing their confidence in me as I continue the privilege of representing their viewpoints and interests. I would also like to congratulate Councilman Adam Armahizer on his election victory, and I am looking forward to working with him in 2023 and to do what we feel is best for Raritan and its residents. I also thank my collogues for entrusting me to continue my service as council president. I heard from residents while campaigning, they want to see action and progress from the governing body. My goal for this year is just that. The governing body is ready to put forth the work to achieve this; all while maintaining engagement and participation from the public. Procedurally, we have streamlined our administrative staff to better handle issues as they arise and to provide the governing body with more in-depth information for budget, planning, and policy setting. I want to thank our Administrator for the work he has done to get us here and congratulate Cathy on her new role as CFO. All this leads me to have great hope and an optimistic outlook for what we can accomplish as a group, and I look forward to working with everyone to see that come to fruition.

Thank you

Nicolas Carra

Council President

Borough of Raritan
